The Sun Today

Have you seen the sun today

have you seen how it finds itself

all proud and bright in your skin

warming you through and through

to the heart of living – to the heart

of life.

There can be no other feeling,

none so proud and full of life

as that of the sun covering itself

all over you and creeping itself

into your every human crevice,

your ever nook and cranny. 

That kind of way it makes you

to close your eyes and imagine

taking more of it in, all of it in to

your skin and corpuscles of very

being and very life.  Pulling in

the universe that is within you

all at once.

That is what the sun is happy to do,

bring you into fuller blossom and

bloom in this thing called life.

And,

most of us lock ourselves away from

this joy, this universal brightness of

our being and intensity.  We are star-

dust and the entrails of the cosmos

that hide behind our jobs and petty

meanderings into forays of our ego.

We think we are something,

and that small deviation from truth,

has sent us down the wrong path –

every second we have believed it.
